Thanks Mum

I have tried to write the context around this note but the details are still raw so I haven`t got very far. This is a note in my mother`s handwriting which my sister had kept as a reminder of her hand. She kept a note in my father`s handwriting as well. They have both died now , our parents, our mother just a year ago. My sister and I gathered many small items like this when we went through "The Special Box "which our mother had filled with her special mementos. She said we would laugh when we went through it after her death. In that way she prepared us and we did indeed laugh ( and cry ) as we discovered items she had held dear.

My sister hadn`t really read the note until last week. Her time between nursing shifts is no longer filled with outside tasks due to the Corona virus and she had time to read the lines our mother had felt were important enough to write down and keep. She shared them with me on a day I was feeling sorry for myself and I am sharing them with you because there is an elegant simplicity to these instructions which gives me strength. Thanks Mum.
